What video format can I screen it in?
We encourage DVD but if you have access to a Digibeta or DVCam projector we can provide you with
one of those.
How much does it cost?
We offer two public screening options:
$85 Non-Profit Community Viewing Rights.* These rights cover a one-time only public viewing of the film for organizations and schools who will not charge admission for their screening. The DVD is non-transferable (i.e. you cannot share it with other organizations or other venues), but it is yours to keep for private home use after your event. If you wish to charge admission at your screening, please choose the rights below.
$295 Fundraiser Community Viewing Rights.* These rights cover multiple public viewings of the film, as well as screenings at which admission will be charged. If you wish to show the film more than once, charge admission, or circulate the film in your organization or school's library, please choose these rights. With the exception of public or university libraries' lending programs to their authorized cardholders, and schools lending programs to students and their families, the DVD is non-transferable.
If you are a theater and want to book the film, please contact Jim Browne at jim@argotpictures.com
Can I sell copies of the film to help raise funds for my organization?
Yes. Many groups find it helpful to purchase a bulk order (10 or more) of Note By Note DVDs to resell for fundraising purposes. We offer these DVDs to your organization at a wholesale price of $12 each (retail $24.95 + shipping). If this is of interest to your organization, please indicate the quantity of DVDs desired on the public screening application.
What if I already own a DVD of Note By Note. Can I use that DVD for my screening?
Yes, but if you want to show the film in any public setting, you must contact Ben Niles to purchase a screening license. (We will deduct $24.95 from the appropriate fee listed above.)
How can I promote it locally?
We’ll add you to our calendar and monthly newsletter. You can also download the press materials at the bottom of this page to use at your discretion. Additionally, your local Steinway dealer might be
interested in getting involved to help promote as well.

Can I use the film to raise funds for my organization?
Yes. We have already partnered with many schools and organizations to help raise funds for
operating costs, new instruments, and educational materials. If you wish to sell tickets and/or take
donations to raise funds for your school or organization, please contact us for more specifics.
How have other organizations planned their events?
Most organizations have followed the model below but it’s your event so just have fun with it.
Here are a few ideas...
1. Screening of Note By Note, 81 min, and if you like, though not mandatory:
2. Have a local pianist perform a short recital (10-12 min) afterwards. You can even book L1037. She’s traveled to over 15 cities so far and is a real crowd pleaser.
3. Invite Director, Ben Niles to conduct a Q&A afterwards with visiting pianists, tuners, etc.
4. Post screening party or DVD signing. (Ben will sell and sign posters and dvds for those interested) |
